Lubango

7 MAY 2023

I took an instant liking to Lubango. It’s set on a plateaux surrounded by mountains which form the escarpment on the other side of which is the coastal plain area to the sea.

The air is cooler at night and seems fresher. The town is very clean, with wide streets and a Portuguese, Brazilian feel to it. The streets form a grid arrangement focussed around the presidential buildings and the cathedral square.

I spent time getting to know the sights and making enquiries about onward transport to the Namibian border.
