Estaon to Tavascan

31 August

Last night the manager of the refuge cooked dinner for the 6 guests in her little kitchen.

Lentil and vegetable soup, sausage and locally picked mushrooms and her own special cheese cake made with her own home made cheese. Delicious.

Todays hike has been along country paths, passed another abandoned village and over a pass into another tree lined valley. The vegetation is autumnal; rich with yellowing ferns, lichens, mosses and red berried bushes.

There are clouds gathering and I reached the village just in time for the beginning of a torrential rain and thunderstorm. Perfect timing to be warm and dry inside the hostal bar.
