Murgab

Murgab is a strange town right in the east of the country.

It was a Soviet garison and is now the home to a mix of Kyrgyz and Tajik people. The annual Kyrgyz horse festival took place whilst I was there, which provided a great opportunity to see the famous horses and meet many of the community. It was a dusty and hot day so most of the women were wearing their head scarfs to cover most of their faces.
