Khojand

I will pass the time getting to know the daily life of the city

I am spending the next days in the second largest town in Tajikistan before crossing the border into Uzbekistan. It prides itself as one of the oldest towns in the country, founded by Alexander the Great. Khojand used to have great palaces, mosques and a huge citadel, but sadly all were bulldozed by the Mongols in the 13th century. There isn't a lot to see here now but I will pass the time getting to know the daily life of the city and its surrounding area.
