All is well - new boots, strong knees and beautiful hiking weather. Set off over the Coll to the next valley.

Walking in the Pyrenees foothills brings ancient villages, old pathways and mountains streams.

I've booked a night in a beautiful old Pyrenees hotel nestled in the valley, full of character and the added bonus of a garden. I spent the afternoon enjoying the sunshine, discovering the valley pathways around the lake and soaking up the ambience of this very special valley.

Today, I am celebrating independence, freedom, nature and tranquillity.
