Ebolowa

19 APRIL 2023

I travelled in a new AC minibus today, long smooth roads heading south towards the Gabon border. I decided to stop the night in this town before doing the border crossing in the morning.

Ebolowa is a bustling town built on cocoa wealth. I was struck by how green it was and how a manmade lake forms the central focus of the town. A motorbike taxi driver recommended the Ndancy Hotel, where I got a room overlooking the lake for 15,000CFA. There was a nice short walk around the lake to enjoy and a busy market settling local produce. The climate here is cool, with a light breeze; a lovely change from the rest of Cameroon so far.
